Scenes from a First Birthday {Pinwheel Love}

August marked many milestones for our family. End of summer, a new school year, Greyson's first birthday and the start of a never ending game of chase {Greyson's first steps that have turned in to a full toddler jog in just two weeks}. And while I've taken a break Lowcountry Spoiled for some time now - being back on schedule has given me more time to share life's big moments.

I struggled {like most moms} to find the perfect birthday theme and after much internal debate I went with something Greyson loves more than puffs and bananas…PINWHEELS.  It was a fun and memorable day thanks to many helping hands - we had a blast celebrating Greyson's big day. Special thanks to Janet at SillyGoosePhotography for capturing our special day.

Paris in the Fall {Savannah's Most Charming}

Part of the charm of living in the Lowcountry is having access to several great cities and towns. Savannah being one of them {just 35 minutes from Hilton Head Island} and with great restaurants, retailers and the growing influence of art {thanks to SCAD} Savannah has become one of my favorite day trips. Now that the weather is cooler - We have have been strolling towards these hotspots on a weekly basis.

One of our favorite stops is The Paris Market on West Broughton Street. Trust me when I say you should reserve extra time for this fun shop. From exocentric coffee table books to hysterical seasonal finds, owner Paula Danyluk provides treasures from all over the word. Lovely accessories from the English country side, gorgeous jewelry {no doubt inspired by Parisian fashion} and an inviting cafĂ© that allows you to enjoy the afternoon as if you have traveled across the pond.

Halloween Entrance {DIY Burlap Boo}

Put together a burlap wreath, black tulle, wooden ghost and glitter ribbon and you have a rustic and fun wreath for your front door. Wrap the black tulle around any wreath, then play with the fabric so that it spreads all over {similar to a web - see images below} then place your favorite Halloween sign in the middle. I used black glitter ribbon from the Dollar Store since this is an outdoor project - no need to buy expensive ribbon. Check it out below...BOO!

Pantry to Party {Thrifty Fall Tablescape}

Yesterday we went strolling through the thrift store and finally spent some time decorated for fall. The {Cancer Thrift Store off Bluffton Parkway has a smaller selection of glassware but you can often find more sets beyond two glasses} We found two sets of eight glasses that I painted gold and cost just thirteen dollars {$6 Glasses + $7 Paint}. With Martha's line of metallic paints you'll never want to turn down a cheap set of wine glasses ever again!

Placemats {Target Clearance $1.16 each} Glassware {Bluffton's Cancer Thift Store - Set of eight for $2} Gold Paint {Martha Stewart Crafts at Michaels} Orange Vase & Pumpkins {Marshalls}

Think Outside the Box {Clutch Find at Stein Mart}

Making several debuts on the run way this year was the 'box clutch'. Made famous by the Duchess herself - Kate Middleton - Everyone from Saint Laurent to Alexander McQueen included these micro leather boxes as the must have accessory.

Clean lines and sleek design make these clutches the perfect match for any wardrobe. Gold hardware allows you to dress it up as much or as little as you want. Trouble is that a designer kitty such as the ones spotted in Bryant Park cost anywhere from $500-$1395.  Why break the bank when you can have one in every color thanks to Stein Mart. These box clutches were just $24.95.  Happy Shopping!
